Move It, for Solo Flute or Solo Alto Flute

Premiered at the 2020 National Flute Association's Summer Series, 'Move It' was composed by Dr. Carlos Simon and commissioned by flutist, Dr. Brice Smith. 'Move It' has also been chosen as a preliminary recorded round solo for the 2021 Myrna Brown flute competition. Dr. Simon characterizes his solo work as, “a syncopated joy ride. I want to explore the percussive and rhythmic nature of the flute; something moves with energy and forward motion." Thank you to everyone that helped make this commission a reality. I hope you all enjoy this performance. A special thank you to my incredible recording engineer, Stephanie Neumann and to my friends that provided a space to record. Cheers!
